Generous Donation from the Saltwood Village Society

The school was fortunate to receive an unexpected, and generous, donation of £250 from Saltwood Village Society. As the committee were keen for their gift to benefit all of the children, it was agreed that the money would be spent on new books for the Library and classrooms. The children were involved in helping choose the books they wanted.

John, Julia and Chris from Saltwood Village Society joined us for our Gold Book celebration today to present the books to the school. As it happens, all of their children attended Saltwood Primary School and Chris was Ms Wakelin’s primary school Headteacher – all those years ago!

Saltwood Village Society has been in existence for over 60 years and is based in the village. It has around 80 members and each year holds a series of talks and local events -  occasionally financing additions to the village scene such as commemorative trees on the Village Green.

 We are very grateful to Saltwood Village Society and we know these new books will bring joy to the children who read them.
