FOSS, or Friends of Saltwood School, is  our very active PTA. Our activities not only help to raise valuable funds for the school, but also enrich the experience of all children during their time at Saltwood.

We are a small committee of enthusiastic and energetic people, both parents and staff, who work hard to support and raise money for the school and encourage friendships amongst parents and within the local community. The Friends aim to support and help the school in its education of our children by provision (or assistance with the provision) of facilities and resources, and to enhance relationships between parents, staff and other groups within the school through fundraising and social activities. Each year we are able to spend around £12,000 on the school and the children, but in order to do this we rely on your continued support and volunteering……

Recently we have been responsible for raising funds to :

• maintain and replace the playground equipment
• replace old projectors in classrooms with fully interactive touch screens
• replace reading books in the library
• provide First aid training for year 6
• fund annual trips to Brockhill Park for each year group
• purchase a set of digital cameras for the children to use together
• install an all weather canopy outside the Deedes Room
