Class R
Look at what Class R got up to last year!
Minibeast Hunt
Class R are very interested in wildlife, particularly 'minibeasts'. This year we will be looking at the smallest creatures we can find around our school; both in the pond area and in our outdoor area and field.
Later this year we will be working with rangers at Brockhill park and at Dungeness to help local wildlife projects. We also plan to do some hands on activities at school including pond dipping and making wormerys.

Keeping Healthy
Class R have been learning all about how to keep healthy this term. We have had a visit from Sam who is an optometrist and also from Dr Bala and Jo who are a GP and a physiotherapist respectively. As well as having lots of adults telling us how to look after our bodies, we have been finding out for ourselves too. We talked a lot about healthy food, sleep, exercise and even how to brush our teeth! We have had a doctors surgery inside and a healthy cafe in our outside area too.

Baby Clinic
Lots of the children in Class R are interested in babies and so we decided to open a baby clinic in our role play area. The children were able to weigh and measure the babies as well as looking after them with lots of clothes a baby bath and doctors' apparatus. We were very lucky to have 3 babies who came to visit us too!

Diwali
This term we have been studying 'Celebrations'. As well as preparing for our first nativity performance we are looking at Diwali and Hannukah too. We will also learn about Chinese New Year when we come back from the Christmas break. The children have been really engaged in our learning on Diwali and particularly enjoyed making these gold and silver diwa lamps from the story of Rama and Sita.
