Class 1
Find out what Class 1 got up to in 2021-22!
Outdoor Learning
We had a great time creating shelters to protect our furry friends in Outdoor Learning. We used things in from our natural environment to create the shelters and then tested them to see if they kept our creatures dry! Click on the pictures to enlarge.
Open Lesson with Parents!
Last Wednesday, we had a wonderful time as we invited our grown ups in to help us create puppets. We had already created designs for the puppets based on our last English unit of ‘Traditional Tales’ and our grown ups worked with us to help make and decorate felt hand puppets. We loved having extra help and ideas to help us with our creations and we were all very pleased with our finished designs!
Courageous Advocacy Project
Class 1 decided they wanted to make the world a better place by helping to keep it tidy. We borrowed all the equipment from the council and walked down to the green in Hythe (by Hythe Bay, so a BIG walk for little legs!!!!). The children did ever so well and found all sorts of rubbish including crisp packets, cigarette ends, sweet packaging and even a marble! They were very proud of their efforts.
Hatching our Chicks
It has been an incredibly exciting week in Class 1 as our eggs have hatched and we have welcomed 8 baby chicks! The chicks have all been named by the children and we have loved having them out to stroke and listening to their tuneful songs. Children from across the school have been visiting and enjoying experiencing the new life. A huge thank you to Mrs Whittaker who has arranged this wonderful experience for us!
