We celebrate Christian Festivals each year including:
Our Harvest Festival service is held yearly at St Peter and St Paul Church and parents are welcome to attend. We invite the children to bring gifts that will be presented and blessed during the service. For many years the gifts have been distributed by Age UK and The Folkestone Rainbow Centre.
This is a special assembly where we request that each child chooses from his/her toys or books at home, one item
in good condition which, with their parent’s permission, of course) they would be happy to wrap in Christmas paper and offer to a child from a less fortunate home in this area.
Lent boxes are available for the children to collect for charities during the Lent period, perhaps by donating their sweet money or 20p pieces.
Easter is always celebrated at Saltwood School culminating with an end of term service at Church.
Ascension Day is marked each year when the whole school splits into four groups and visits local beauty spots such as Brockhill Park and the Castle Valley. We start the day with a service at our Church to celebrate Jesus' ascension into Heaven, as described in Luke Chapter 24 v 51.
Saints’ Days are also celebrated, as appropriate.
